Conventional Fixed Full Implant Bridge
Suitable for patients with no teeth to the upper, lower or both jaws as well as patients with all teeth failing to the upper, lower or both jaws.
The 12-14 tooth bridge is constructed from porcelain or zirconia and permanently fixed to 4, 6 or 8 implants for each jaw.
Where failing teeth are still in place it would necessary to extract all prior to implant placement and if appropriate temporarily restore the jaw with a traditional denture or in some cases a temporary bridge connected to a few remaining teeth. Once the implants have been placed and have integrated with the jaw bone the 12-14 tooth porcelain or zirconia bridge is then fixed to the implants (in most cases screw retained).
The bridgework is non-removable and functions in a very similar way to natural teeth and provides great chewing function. From time to time the bridge may require removal for cleaning and it is vital that patients with this type of fixed implant bridge visit a hygienist twice a year for de-scaling.
